Pertaining to the decision of the Supervisory Board of ORLEN Upstream, Mateusz Zwoliński was appointed to the position of the Management Board Member. The Supervisory Board accepted also Piotr Kearney’s resignation as Vice President for Finance
On 15 November the Supervisory Board of ORLEN Upstream adopted resolution no. 38/2017 on appointment of Mateusz Zwoliński to the position of the Management Board Member as from 18 November. In his capacity as the Member of the Management Board Member and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mateusz Zwoliński will be responsible for finance and strategy.
Mateusz Zwoliński graduated from Warsaw School of Economics, major International Economic Affairs, specialization of Corporate Finance Management. He also studied in Jönköping International Business School in Sweden. He completed executive education courses in management and strategy at MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge (United States) and at Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (United States).
He is Polish certified auditor and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Mateusz Zwoliński started his professional career in Deloitte, in the audit department, where he worked among others for oil and gas industry. Then he was associated with PwC, where he worked in the field of transactional services.
He joined ORLEN Upstream in 2010 as M&A Manager. In 2015 he was promoted to the role of director of the Strategy and Project Management. At that time he was responsible for preparation and execution of strategy for the upstream segment in ORLEN Group. He participated in four corporate acquisitions (TriOil Resources, Birchill Exploration, Kicking Horse Energy and FX Energy). Moreover, he coordinated integration of acquired assets and development of business activity in Canada through ORLEN Upstream Canada. Mateusz Zwoliński has also served as a member of the Board of Directors in Frontier Exploration, an American company acquired by PKN ORLEN in December 2015 as a part of FX Energy Group.
