Wiesław Prugar, President of the Management Board at ORLEN Upstream, will participate in the discussion panel on to shale gas, which will take place in Katowice (Poland) while European Economic Congress. The 5th edition of the event begins on 13 May 2013.
European Economic Congress has become one of the most important economic event held in Central Europe, and every year it gains on its popularity. According to the event's organizers, during three-day round of debates and meetings about six thousand guests from both, Poland and foreign countries, will take part. Moreover about hundred Congress sessions are going to be attended by several hundred panelists, business representatives and political and scientific elites.
Two of thematic panels of Congress’s agenda will be dedicated to the unconventional resources. Both will take place on the second day of the event. Among the panelists will be Deputy Minister of Finance - Maciej Grabowski, Deputy Minister of Environment and Country's Chief Geologist - Piotr Woźniak, Eurodeputy - Jerzy Buzek as well as President of the Management Board at ORLEN Upstream - Wiesław Prugar. Speakers will concentrate on the shale gas exploration and production in Poland and abroad. The aim of the discussion will be to compare European countries experiences in the above mentioned area, describe perspectives of shale gas production in Poland and in the foreign countries, and to outline current technological, financial, social and environmental problems, which accompany exploration and production activities.
