A training seminar was held on 15-16 November in Ożarów Mazowiecki under the patronage of the Ministry for the Environment, General Directorate for Environmental Protection and the State Geological Institute.
The purpose of the meeting was to present technological solutions and methods for protecting the natural environment, which were hitherto unknown in Poland and which are advisable at subsequent stages of extracting shale gas. Representatives of state bodies from provinces of Canada and experts preparing and performing unconventional gas deposit projects in Canada presented their experiences.
The specific national characteristics of planning investment processes, methods for implementing environmentally-friendly projects and the requirements for this type of activity in Poland were presented by the Ministry for the Environment, General Directorate for Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Economy, the State Mining Authority and the companies ORLEN Upstream and PGNiG S.A.
The conclusions reached at the seminar were sent to regional environmental protection directors and the State Committee for Environmental Impact Assessments.
