Stoczek-OU1 is the ninth well of the ORLEN Group, made within the programme focused on exploration of unconventional hydrocarbon deposits. The well is located within the area of the “Wodynie-Łuków” concession at the border of Lublin and Mazovian Voivodeships.
- “Having completed the Stoczek-OU1 well , we can state that our interest in hydrocarbons within the Podlasie Basin is justifiable. Well parameters and preliminary findings enable us to plan further works in that location,” said Wiesław Prugar, the President of the ORLEN Upstream Board.
Drilling of the Stoczek-OU1 well, with the use of the Bentec 450T rig, took a month. At the final stage of drilling, ca. 150 m of rock core was collected from the bottom of the well for laboratory analyses. Works to case and cement the well were conducted from mid-December. At the same time, a wide range of geophysical surveys was implemented to be used for designing a horizontal well in the future and for the hydraulic fracturing operation.
