PKN Orlen looks for crude oil deposits outside of Poland, mostly in North Africa. At present, the company from Płock considers the commencement of a project in Egypt, stated today Wiesław Prugar, President of Orlen Upstream.
“In mid 2012 we will start the drilling on the Baltic sea. We are planning two wells there. However, regardless of what is going on in Poland and on the Baltic, we look for productive deposits outside of Poland. We want to be present in North Africa, we mainly think about Egypt and Tunisia, we are interested in productive oil deposits”, said Mr. Prugar.
”Right now we are looking into something,” he added elaborating that it is about a potential project in Egypt.
Mr. Prugar maintained that PKN Orlen is interested in buying out part of the shares in already existing deposits, notably, that it would carry out the extraction works together with a partner.
