Kotlin-3 is another well drilled by the both companies under a joint license. The work will take ca. 90 days. The planned depth of the well is ca. 3135 metres. In Q3 2017 the common production of hydrocarbons in the area of Płotki Project amounted to ca. 2 500 boe/d (barrels of oil equivalent per day).
The project is operated by PGNiG SA, which has 51% share, while ORLEN Group owns the remaining part of the share.
“Thanks to cooperation with experienced and reliable partners, we have systematically increased PGNiG’s producing capacity. The results of work in Wielkopolska are another example of the growth of potential of this region of Poland in respect to increase of the national reserves of natural gas” said Piotr Woźniak, the President of the Management Board of PGNiG SA.
"Ca. 15 kilometres from the location of Kotlin-3 well, there is Karmin deposit, from which we started production together with PGNiG in October 2016. Our successes in discovering new reserves in the region confirm both the efficiency of our exploration assumptions and the potential of the analysed area” said Janusz Radomski, the President of the Management Board of ORLEN Upstream. “We hope that obtained hydrocarbon flows will justify natural gas exploitation in this location, as well”, he added.
The well is located in commune Kotlin (Wielkopolskie voivodeship) in the area of Jarocin-Grabina license and within the area of common Płotki Project. This area covers also the following licenses: Kórnik-Środa, Pyzdry and Śrem-Jarocin. In their territory there are 8 producing deposits at the moment, from which joint production in Q3 2017 was ca. 2 500 boe/d.
In May 2017 well Miłosław-5K/H was drilled in the area of Płotki Project. Commercial hydrocarbon flows were obtained during tests. At the moment the well is being prepared for exploitation, and start of production is planned for the first half of 2019. Furthermore, in September 2017 the company started drilling the Miłosław-4K well. Both wells are located within Kórnik-Środa license in Miłosław commune.
Despite Płotki Project, the partners prepare in Wielkopolska for exploitation of earlier documented deposits of oil and natural gas within the area of Sieraków Project. Moreover, both companies conduct exploration works in Podkarpacie within the scope of Bieszczady Project.
