Upstream segment of PKN ORLEN has started drilling the Bajerze-2, another well located in Unisław-Gronowo license. Total depth of the well will be approx. 3600 meters, and drilling works and tests will take approx. 70 days. Bajerze-1K well, drilled last year, provided data that confirmed the potential of Edge project area and allowed continuation of upstream operations.
Bajerze-2 well is located in Kijewo Szlacheckie village, in Kijewo Królewskie commune, in Kujawsko-Pomorskie province. It is located within Unisław-Gronowo license (no. 51/2008/Ł) included in the area fo Edge project. It is the second well drilled within this license. The previous one, Bajerze-1K, was drilled in 2016, and during the production test, commercial flow of hydrocarbons was obtained.
"Positive results of tests conducted in Bajerze-1K and Tuchola-3 and Tuchola-4K, wells drilled between 2013-2016, confirmed the potential of Edge project regarding the occurrence of commercial hydrocarbon accumulations.” Janusz Radomski, the President of the Management Board of ORLEN Upstream said. “It is however worth to mention that this is still the beginning of exploration in this area, therefore before the development of discovered deposits, a detailed analysis of profitability of this investment must be made. We will be able to make any investment decision later, in the following stage.” he added.
Edge project area includes 5 licenses: Brda-Rzeczenica, Bysław-Wudzyń, Chojnice-Wilcze, Tuchola N and Unisław-Gronowo located in the regions of Kujawy and Pomorze. It has been added to the portfolio of exploration and production assets of PKN ORLEN in the end of 2015.
Moreover, ORLEN Upstream has started drilling works this week in the south of Poland. Located within Blok 435 license in Podkarpackie province Pasieki-OU1 well is being drilled now. Its depth will reach approx. 2600 m, and works in this location will last until autumn.
