VIII Polish Congress of Oil and Gas Field Engineers – Bóbrka 2013

On 22-24 May, in Bóbrka (Poland), in the Oil & Gas Museum, the VIII Polish Congress of Oil & Gas Field Engineers took place. The Honorary patronage over the Conference had been taken by Vice-president of the Cabinet, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of the State Treasury and Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment and the Chief National Geologist. The event was organised by the Board of STPNiG on the 160 anniversary of ignition of the first oil lamp. 

The Congress was focused on the following topic: "The conditions of oil and gas field development in the perspective of the following twenty years".

The participants of the discussion sessions were concentrating on the issues concerning the exploratory works in the area of conventional gas and shale gas and optimization of the exploitation. 

Apart from the representatives of the Polish government, the Congress was attended by representatives of the PKN ORLEN, Rafineria Nafta Jedlicze, ORLEN OIL Sp. z o.o., Rafineria Trzebinia as well as ORLEN Centrum Serwisowe. Among the Congress’s speakers was Wiesław Prugar, President of the Management Board at ORLEN Upstream, who had a presentation on "The results of unconventional reservoir exploration works in the Lublin Basin".
