The 39th General Meeting of Delegates of the Scientific and Technical Association of Engineers and Technicians of Oil and Gas Industry (SITPNiG) was held in late October. The meeting summarized the activities of the Association in the passing term (years 2012 – 2016). A resolution concerning the activities of SITPNiG in the next 4 years was adopted. The gathered delegates elected the new head authorities of the Association for the years 2016 – 2020. The following people were elected to the General Board: Piotr Grzegorz Woźniak, Waldemar Wójcik, Paweł Stańczak, Wiesław Prugar, Krzysztof Potera, Andrzej Soroko, Jan Lubaś, Krzysztof Knap and Włodzimierz Tomczak.
The Board of SITPNiG decided to appoint Wiesław Prugar as the Vice-President and also the Deputy Chairman of the Polish National Committee of the World Petroleum Council. Wiesław Prugar is active in SITPNiG since 1987.
Scientific and Technical Association of Engineers and Technicians of Oil and Gas Industry (SITPNiG) is the largest organization of representatives of the Polish oil and gas industry. SITPNiG was established 8 March 1946 under the name of Association of Engineers and Technicians of Liquid Fuels Industry, as a continuator of the tradition of the petroleum industry organizations operating in Poland since the second half of the nineteenth century. Currently, SITPNiG serves Polish oil and gas companies by supporting social interest and inspiring scientific, technical and organizational undertakings promoting environmental protection and sustainable development. The Association supports the cultivation of oil and gas traditions, promotes technical and environmental knowledge and culture. In addition, one of the objectives of SITPNiG is to consolidate the representatives of the oil and gas industry in Poland and integrate with the international mining and exploration industry and develop a global network of contacts. Since 1995, SITPNiG is responsible for the organization of the Polish National Committee of the World Petroleum Council.
